Greece’s Deepsessions Recordings returns following the Holiday break with their 206th overall release and first of 2013. The Georgian duo Irakli Samkharadze and Mikheil Kedelashvili aka XSector make their debut on the label with their ‘Give Me our Gun’ EP which comes with two brand new original productions.
The EP begins with the title track ‘Give Me Your Gun’ which presents a full, wobbly bass line and some intricate sounding electronics at the outset. A subtle vocal pad introduces a short drop where a cool vocal sample appears along with some spacious melodic elements which add a wonderfully trippy vibe. The tracks flows through the heart of the record with endless hypnotic sequences teasing your brain while the rumbling groove keeps things firmly on the dance floor. The companion piece entitled ‘Mortification Of Metaphor’ closes the EP out with a deeper more thought provoking vibe that’s rich in subtle musicality and some spectacular trippy elements. A great debut for XSector on Deepsessions and a superb start to 2013 for the fine Greek label.
