Manthika, better known as ‘RIO,’ is a versatile and dynamic DJ hailing from the island of Sri Lanka. Emerging from the vibrant underground music scene in Down South, RIO has carved a unique identity in the world of electronic music. He first entered the DJ scene in 2015 at the age of 17, quickly establishing himself as a standout talent. Over the years, RIO has become one of the most well-known and respected figures in Sri Lanka’s underground music culture.
With a passion for music that started at a young age, RIO was drawn to various genres, including progressive house, which heavily influenced his evolving sound. His talent for experimenting with a wide sonic landscape, blending hooks and innovative mixing techniques, has earned him a loyal following and recognition both locally and internationally.
In addition to his DJ career, RIO holds significant positions within the music industry as the CEO of BPM ROMANCE and the Director at ANIMA Events. His career reached new heights when he became the Resident DJ at Hikkatranz By Cinnamon, a role that further solidified his influence in Sri Lanka’s electronic music scene.
Over the years, RIO has shared the stage with global DJ industry icons such as Guy Mantzur, Subandrio, Van Nosikov, Maximov, and many others. His high-energy performances and unique musical style continue to make him one of the most sought-after DJs in Sri Lanka.
