Deepsessions comes off a great release last week from Dan Mlinar and TWH with another debut this week for their 217th overall release. Armenian producer Joseph Zakarian makes his first appearance following a handful of releases under his Hovsep alias. Joseph’s debut EP for Deepsessions is entitled “Chicks In Korea” and it comes with two brand new original productions.
The title track gets the EP underway with a very funky groove which places the tune nicely on the dance floor. Some moody tones and a unique vocal stab slowly accent the framework as more drum elements get added into the mix. Smooth rhythms add to the already rocking groove as the track reaches the main break. Here some well textured pianos provide a nice musical interlude before the club friendly groove builds to a nice crescendo for what should be a great dance floor moment.
The companion piece “Slow Rehab” might just be the standout track on the EP. Backed by a deep and spacious groove that’s complemented with cool vocal elements, bright electronic stabs and a character filled synth sequence “Slow Rehab is guaranteed to rock your dance floor. A great debut for Joseph and a high quality release for Deepsessions with “Slow Rehab” really standing out for us!
